Why this site exists
A home is often the largest and most complicated thing a person will own, yet most people receive no practical owner’s manual at closing. Inspection reports can be dense. Maintenance advice is scattered. Product recommendations are frequently written to sell something rather than help someone make a good decision.
Home Routine Guide is being built to close that gap with clear sequences, calm explanations, useful tools, and honest limits.
Clarity before volume
We would rather publish one useful, maintained guide than twenty shallow articles.
Safety before DIY pride
We explain when a task is organizational or observational—and when qualified professional help is appropriate.
Usefulness before commission
Products should earn a place because they help with a real task, not because they pay the highest rate.
Calm before fear
Home care matters, but homeowners do not need exaggerated consequences or artificial urgency.
Who we serve
Our initial focus is first-time homeowners and owners in their first several years. The guidance is also intended to help condo owners, townhome owners, and longtime homeowners who want a simpler recordkeeping and maintenance system.
What we publish
- First-time homeowner and move-in checklists
- Monthly and seasonal maintenance routines
- Home-system and warranty organization tools
- Repair planning and contractor comparison worksheets
- Plain-language product guides tied to specific tasks
- Educational explanations that point readers to primary sources and qualified professionals
What we do not claim
Home Routine Guide is not a home inspector, contractor, engineer, electrician, plumber, attorney, insurance agent, lender, or emergency service. A website cannot evaluate the condition of your property. Local codes, climate, equipment, warranties, and safe procedures vary.
How the business will earn money
The planned business model includes paid digital tools, optional subscriptions, clearly disclosed affiliate links, and potentially advertising or sponsorships later. Commercial relationships will not purchase favorable coverage. Our affiliate disclosure and editorial policy explain the standards in more detail.
Current stage
The site is in its founding build phase. Core guides, tools, contact systems, and editorial workflows are being developed in public. Pages will show review dates as the library grows.
