Plain-language disclosure

Some future links may be affiliate links. That means Home Routine Guide may earn a commission when a reader makes a qualifying purchase, without increasing the reader’s price in most cases.

Current status

At launch, Home Routine Guide is not publishing paid affiliate recommendations. This policy is being published before monetization begins so readers can understand the standards that will apply later.

Where disclosures will appear

When a page contains affiliate links, sponsorships, free products, paid placements, or another material relationship, the disclosure should appear clearly near the relevant recommendation or near the beginning of the page. A sitewide policy alone is not intended to replace a clear page-level disclosure.

How products will be selected

Products should be included because they help complete a legitimate homeowner task. Selection may consider:

  • Safety information and appropriate certifications
  • Compatibility and manufacturer requirements
  • Ease of use for the intended audience
  • Durability, warranty, and replacement availability
  • Total cost rather than only the purchase price
  • Whether a simpler or no-purchase option is sufficient

What a commission does not buy

A merchant, sponsor, or affiliate program does not receive a guaranteed positive review, top ranking, hidden endorsement, or right to suppress relevant drawbacks. Higher commissions should not determine the recommended product.

Testing and experience claims

We will not claim to have personally tested, installed, owned, or used a product unless that experience actually occurred and can be described accurately. Research-based recommendations will be labeled and should distinguish manufacturer claims from independent evidence or hands-on observations.

Prices and availability

Prices, promotions, availability, warranties, and product specifications can change after publication. Readers should confirm current information with the seller and manufacturer before purchasing.

Returns, warranties, and merchant relationships

Purchases made through external merchants are governed by those merchants’ terms, return policies, warranties, and customer-service practices. Home Routine Guide is not the seller unless a product page explicitly states otherwise.

Digital products

Home Routine Guide may sell its own digital checklists, planners, templates, or software. Those products will be identified as our products and governed by the terms shown at purchase.

Advertising and sponsorships

Future advertising or sponsored material will be labeled. Sponsored content will not be presented as independent editorial work without disclosure.

Our standard

The Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides emphasize truthful endorsements and clear disclosure of material connections. Home Routine Guide intends to follow those principles and update this policy as the business model develops.
